Dietz – der frische Bäcker is a family-run bakery based in Trier-Ehrang. Their motto — "Lecker aus Leidenschaft" — covers 28 branches and a fleet of Backmobile that bring fresh bread into villages across the region. When they opened a new branch in Ralingen, a small town on the Sauer river near the Luxembourg border, the counter was built, the ovens were running, and one wall was doing nothing.

"Something was missing in our new branch," the team told us. "It was a bare spot, and we were looking for an eye-catching logo. Visibility and beautification were important to us."

Two requirements were non-negotiable: it had to look modern, and it had to come in their exact brand colors.

The Configuration and why Dietz ordered their sign online

Dietz Logo im Konfi

Dietz knew what they wanted. "We were always very fixated on aluminium signs and simply wanted something new."

What tipped the decision wasn't price. It was the wait. A local sign maker sends a quote days later, usually with a mockup attached. In our Web2Cut configurator, the mockup is included in the ordering process. Upload your file, pick the material, set the size, choose the RAL colors, and see the 3D result in a realistic preview immediately, with the price and delivery date next to it.

"Through the website, where you can customize everything, you could immediately see what it looks like. Simply amazing. With companies in our area, you logically always have to wait a bit until you get a quote with an image."

They configured a 3 mm aluminum composite cutout in satin finish, 83 × 77.2 cm, in RAL 1003 and RAL 1015 — the yellow and ivory of the Dietz brand. Aluminum composite was the right call here: rigid enough to hold a large motif dead flat, light enough to mount without structural anchoring, and the satin surface reads clean under shop lighting without throwing reflections back at the counter.

The solution

Every project has unique, challenging details that make it stand out in the end.

Here it was the mounting surface. Dietz didn't want the logo directly on the wall — they wanted it on a wooden board made from the same wood as the counter. A nice idea. Also a demanding one because it required a clean drilling.

There was a second problem. Parts of the Dietz logo are narrow — narrower than the spacer mount itself. A click-system spacer has a fixed diameter (18mm in this case), and if the letterform is slimmer than that diameter, there's simply nowhere to insert it.

So we recommended a hybrid: click-system spacers for the large elements, which lifts them off the board and gives the logo depth and shadow, and self-adhesive mounting for the narrow letters.

Nobody from cadout ever set foot in Ralingen. Nobody needed to. Every package we ship is built for self-installation: a 1:1 drilling template that marks every hole position, the mounting hardware, and step-by-step instructions — whether the person opening the box is a professional Werbetechniker fitting their tenth sign that month or a bakery caretaker mounting his first. Here it was the caretaker, and he drilled the wooden board without measuring a single distance himself. The template did the measuring.

"The installation on a wooden board was quite demanding, but definitely doable thanks to the template," the team said afterwards. And the hybrid mount? "In hindsight, it looks even better because of the hybrid solution. The parts were too small to be mounted with spacers, and now they are glued and look great."

The depth of the spacer-mounted elements against the flush letters gives the motif a layered look a single technique couldn't.

Dietz customers reaction

Ralingen got its bakery, and the village noticed. "Very positive feedback — people are very happy to now have a shop and a bakery in the village, and many commuters stop by before work. And the new sign also triggered many wow effects and was noticed by many customers."

A logo on an interior wall decides what the room communicates to those walking in. A bare wall says temporary. A brand mark in the right colors, mounted with visible care, says we're are here for you every day.

Asked to sum up the whole process, Dietz kept it short: "The collaboration exceeded our expectations: a great website for ordering, reliable and friendly customer service, and products we are completely satisfied with." Ordering, packaging, support — "Everything. Ordering was easy. The delivery was super well packaged, and customer service was also super nice."

Questionmark

If you have a bare spot and a logo file, the Web2Cut configurator will show you what the finished cutout looks like before you spend anything. Choose any size, shape, or form, in your material, your RAL colors, with the mounting method included. And if you're unsure whether your motif needs spacers, adhesive, or both: every order is checked by our graphics team before production.
