Outdoor Suitability for 3D Logo & 3D Letter Materials

Shop front or facade, entrance or beer garden. Outdoors, your 3D logo has to withstand UV radiation, rain, frost and summer heat. Some of our materials are fully weatherproof, others are only partly suitable for outdoor use, and certain materials and colouring methods should only be used indoors.

Acrylic glass, rigid foam and LED cut-outs can optionally be lacquered in 193 RAL colours. The automotive-grade lacquer is 100% UV- and weather-resistant.

Through-dyed material
Material dyed by the manufacturer is available for acrylic glass and aluminium composite in a selection of catalogue colours. No fading or yellowing from sunlight.

Robust metal
Stainless steel and aluminium resist corrosion, UV radiation and weather for years. Corten steel develops the desired rust patina over several months and is then also protected for the long term.

Lasting light effect
Our sealed LED logos made of solid acrylic are dust- and waterproof and keep a constant, hotspot-free light for decades. Partially dark areas are ruled out.

Natural materials
Our wood and moss cut-outs are natural products and are not sealed for outdoor use. Wood bleaches and swells when wet, and moss dries out and loses its colour in the sun.

UV direct print
Acrylic glass, rigid foam and aluminium composite can optionally be printed. The print is already UV-stabilised, but loses intensity over the years under constant sunlight.

Open back
On LED back-lit logos made of wood or rigid foam, the LEDs are exposed at the back and, unlike our other LED products, are not encapsulated. They therefore have no protection against corrosion or weather.

Self-adhesive mounting
Cut-outs with full-surface adhesive are only suitable outdoors on very smooth surfaces (e.g. glass). Elements with adhesive pads should additionally be fixed with mounting adhesive outdoors.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I use UV-printed logos outdoors?

You can install a UV-printed logo outdoors if it doesn't hang in direct sunlight and gets an additional UV protective film. The film is available on request, but can't be applied to intricate designs. If a minimalist version also works for your brand, you can choose a material without print, for example a metal such as stainless steel or aluminium.

Can Corten steel stain the facade?

Rainwater running off can stain porous surfaces below, such as stone, concrete, wood, mortar or unglazed brick. Plan the position so that no water runs directly down the facade and the steel doesn't stay permanently damp.

Can I mount an LED logo outdoors?

Yes. Our LED logos made of solid acrylic are hermetically sealed and therefore dust- and waterproof. The LED grooves are sealed watertight with flexible resin, and every logo goes through several light tests before shipping. This keeps the light even after years, in the city as well as on the coast.

Will the adhesive hold on textured render?

On textured render, we recommend mechanical fixing with bolts (type B/C) to glue in or screw on. Stainless steel bolts are also suitable for facades with thermal insulation. Full-surface bonding is intended for smooth surfaces.

Will a large logo warp in direct sunlight?

Not if you choose the right material. Aluminium composite has low thermal expansion and stays dimensionally stable in heat and direct sun, even in large elements. Aluminium is very stable, and acrylic glass is temperature- and weather-resistant.

How long will my logo last outdoors?

With the right material, many years. Through-dyed acrylic glass is UV- and weather-resistant, stainless steel and aluminium are unaffected by external influences, and for lacquered surfaces we use durable two-component lacquers. Corten steel forms its own protective layer and stays stable for years without maintenance.

Does cadout offer outdoor installation?

No, we don't offer installation, either indoors or outdoors. However, we deliver your logo as a fully equipped package with everything you need to install it yourself, including a mounting template, screws and wall plugs.

Does cadout take care of permits for outdoor advertising?

No. Whether you need a permit for your logo on the facade is best clarified directly with your city or municipality.

Ganz tolles Unternehmen. Wir haben ein Logo für unsere Bäckerei dort bestellt, da wir etwas Modernes, bzw. einen richtigen Hingucker haben wollten. Die Homepage ist zum bestellen klasse, man sieht direkt wie es auf der Wand aussieht. Die Ware kam gut verpackt an. Der Kundenservice antwortet sehr schnell und ist super freundlich. 100% Kaufempfehlung.

Ich bin absolut begeistert ! Niemand konnte mein Logo so gut umsetzten wie Cadout. Von Anfang an wurde ich bestens beraten, es wurde alles getan um meinen Wunsch vom Logo für mein Kosmetikstudio einfach perfekt umzusetzen und das wurde geschafft. 5 Sterne und das mehr als zu Recht. Der Kundenservice war richtig gut, ich wurde wenige Minuten nach meiner Bestellung telefonisch wegen einiger Rückfragen zu meiner Vorlagedatei kontaktiert. Die Schablone wurde dann schneller geliefert als angekündigt. Der erste Test des Stencils war viel besser als ich es bei dem filigranen Motiv erwartet hätte. Alles in allem einfach TOP. Das wird sicherlich nicht die letzte Schablone sein die ich bei Stencil Mafia bestelle. Vielen Dank für den guten Service und die professionelle Umsetzung. Nachtrag: Auch nach mehrfacher Benutzung ein 1a Ergebnis auf Holz.
